Sonia raised Manipur issue with PM during brief interaction, says Cong
Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi raised the issue of Manipur with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a greeting in the Lok Sabha. Gandhi requested a discussion on Manipur in Parliament, to which Modi responded, "alright, I will see." The newly formed Opposition coalition of 26 parties has urged Modi to speak on the ongoing ethnic clashes in Manipur, which have claimed at least 150 lives and displaced nearly 40,000 people. Opposition leaders have also moved a notice to discuss the "prime minister's silence on the ongoing violence in Manipur" in the Rajya Sabha.
