Rain-heavy system to shift to east, northeast, says IMD

Extreme rainfall has caused landslides, flooding, and widespread damage in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi. The India Meteorological Department has stated that the rainfall is expected to subside by Tuesday, but heavy rainfall is likely in northeastern and eastern India in the next three days. The interaction between a western disturbance and the monsoon trough has caused the heavy rainfall. The western disturbance has moved eastward, and the weather office has forecasted light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy showers over Uttarakhand, eastern Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.
