Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stated that the push for using mother tongue in education under the National Education Policy (2020) will create a new generation free from the “mentality of slavery”. He emphasized the importance of education in regional Indian languages and the need for equality in education and resources. The PM also announced the release of education and skill curriculum books translated into 12 Indian languages and the launch of new books for 130 subjects in 22 different languages. He highlighted the positive changes in the Indian education system and the interest from global universities to open campuses in India.
