India, US announce defence road map
India and the US have agreed on a new roadmap for defence industrial cooperation to fast-track technology cooperation and co-production in areas such as air combat and land mobility systems, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, munitions, and the undersea domain. They aim to change the paradigm for cooperation and provide India with access to cutting-edge technologies. The two sides will also identify opportunities for co-development of new technologies and co-production of existing and new systems, and facilitate increased collaboration between defence start-ups. The talks also covered the situation along the Line of Actual Control and a free and rules-bound Indo-Pacific region.
