Lingayat community’s self-respect was hurt, says former K’taka CM Shettar

Former Karnataka CM Jagadish Shettar has joined the Congress after being denied a ticket by the BJP for the upcoming assembly polls. Shettar blamed senior BJP leaders for targeting him and has said his self-respect was hurt by the denial. The Lingayat strongman said his community has backed him and he will contest on a Congress ticket, confident of a win. He denied wanting any post in the Congress and said he respected the party’s fight against corruption.
