An Air India pilot is being investigated for allegedly violating safety norms by allowing a female friend to sit in the cockpit and serving her food and drinks during a flight from Dubai to Delhi. The incident, which occurred on 27 February, was reported to regulator the Directorate General of Civil Aviation by a member of the cabin crew. The airline has set up an investigation committee and the crew involved have been summoned to appear before the DGCA. The pilot is also alleged to have made sexist remarks during the return flight.
