Congress Party chief Mallikarjun Kharge has reshuffled the Congress Working Committee (CWC), adding 20 new members including Shashi Tharoor and Sachin Pilot ahead of key assembly polls and the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The move is seen as an attempt to promote unity within the party and include a diverse range of voices. The CWC now has 39 members, up from 25, and includes quotas for youth, SCs, STs, OBCs, and women. The reshuffle is the first major organizational change since Kharge became party chief.
