Clashes continue in Manipur, BJP office vandalised

Clashes between security forces and miscreants in Imphal left two people injured and resulted in attacks on the residences of BJP leaders and party offices. The attacks occurred the day after an angry mob set fire to the Imphal home of Union minister of state for external affairs RK Ranjan Singh. Violence has been ongoing in Manipur since the beginning of May, with over 115 dead, more than 310 injured and over 40,000 displaced from their homes. The situation began with protests against a high court order recommending the Meiteis be included in the scheduled tribe list.
