BBMP contractors retract allegation of corruption against Congress government

The BBMP Contractors Association in Bengaluru has retracted earlier allegations of the ruling Congress government seeking a commission to clear pending bills. The association clarified that the allegations were propagated by middlemen and their plea was solely to expedite the settlement of pending dues. The allegations came after the state government established a Special Investigation Team to look into works undertaken within BBMP limits. The association plans to meet with the chief minister and deputy chief minister to emphasize the urgency of the situation. Meanwhile, the BJP has demanded a Lokayukta investigation into allegations of corruption.
