Women comprises 48% of overall enrolment in higher education: AISHE report

Female enrolment in higher education in India has increased by 32% since 2014-15, compared to a 26.5% increase in total enrolment, according to a report by the All India Survey on Higher Education. The survey also found that female enrolment has steadily increased over the years, with a 50 lakh increase since 2014-15. However, representation of females in engineering and technical courses remains low at 29.1%.
