India is set to sign two major defense deals with the United States, worth over $4 billion, for jet engines and weaponized remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS). The deals highlight India’s push for indigenization and technology transfer as it looks to diversify its arms purchases and boost its military capabilities. The US has been a key supplier of defense equipment to India in recent years, helping to fill critical capability gaps and strengthen India’s military posture, particularly in the Ladakh sector amid the border tensions with China.
