Has the Congress broken new ground in Karnataka?

Congress achieves best performance in Karnataka since 1989 with victories in 135 assembly constituencies in the 2023 elections, but results cannot be compared to pre-2008 due to delimitation process. Analysis shows Congress won 81% of its stronghold seats, 32% of BJP’s and 70% of JD(S)’s. Congress broke new ground in the election, but did not improve performance in Bengaluru.
